Stage Technologies is delighted to be the sole platinum sponsor of this year’s quadrennial International Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference, which returns to London on the 13th June.

Richard Brett, Conference Director, has a strong message about the importance of conference sponsorship. ‘Sponsors of these conferences are vital. Not only does their support enable the event, it demonstrates their willingness to put something back into the industry by helping to improve understanding and communication,’ he said.

This will be the third TEAC conference to be held in London, this year at the Central Hall Westminster. The two previous conferences were over-subscribed and pre-registration has already been extremely popular this year, so the organisers are advising delegates to reserve places early. Stage Technologies was also a proud sponsor of the 2002 and 2006 conferences.

Mark Ager, Managing Director of Stage Technologies, is keen to promote major networking events such as the TEAC and stresses a commitment to supporting their continuing success: ‘Stage Technologies and Delstar Engineering have been enthusiastic sponsors of the Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conferences since they began in 2002. We believe that facilitating opportunities for key designers, specifiers, consultants and users to talk together provides an environment in which enthusiastic professionals in their fields can benefit from shared knowledge. The conferences provide an extremely productive and enjoyable environment in which lessons from the past can be noted and visions for the future shared.’

The TEAC site speaks highly of its sponsors and supporters. ‘The Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference is supported by a number of UK and international companies and practices, all of whom value the opportunity of reviewing with other professionals the planning and equipment installations for auditoria and other spaces for the performing arts.  These organisations appreciate the value of understanding the sometimes conflicting features of good performing arts design.  They wish to further the planning and construction of high-quality venues which satisfactorily combine aesthetics and technology.  Their support for the Conference is invaluable and is greatly appreciated by everyone involved as it makes the event possible.’

The conference offers a platform for architects, consultants, designers, engineers, venue managers, manufacturers and technicians to come together and exchange views with other leading industry experts. Delegates can also take advantage of social events, networking opportunities and venue tours organised around the conference days.

The conference programme includes around 30 presentations and moderated debates in a structure that allows delegates to attend up to 10 sessions.

The three conference themes this year are:
•    technology, stage engineering, lighting
•    planning, architecture, space design
•    audio, video, acoustics

The conference is followed immediately by The ABTT Theatre Show on 16-17 June, which attracts over 2000 visitors annually.
