Our range of engineering solutions extends to the use of a 19-metre test tower facility and related services in Suffolk, which is one of the few such operational test towers in the country and is available for hire at affordable rates.

The tower has been used to perform winch assessments on multiple lines, check brake response times, examine load values and carry out accuracy drop testing and is also ideal for working at heights training for construction workers, safety inspectors, rescue personnel and riggers.

The Tower:

The purpose-built tower is designed to accommodate testing with suspended loads and other similar experiments.

• Weatherproof construction with insulated cabin at top of tower
• Lights, power and data feeds to cabin from test office
• Testing foundations are intended to handle a wide range of lifting and load stress tests
• Full stair access from within the building allows operators to reach the cabin safe zone without passing through the drop zone
• Cabin split into 2 areas:
  o    operator safe zone with handrail
  o    test area with modular removable floor panels
• 19m working stroke is available with a drop space envelope of 4.9m x 1.7m.
• Chain-hoist available for lifting goods/equipment to cabin test area 
• Test weights available on request:
  o    water-filled bag for up to 2000kg load
  o    metal test weights/cages
