Andrew Lloyd Webber’s long-awaited continuation of the story of The Phantom of the Opera finally arrived in the West End at the Adelphi Theatre in March 2010 and will commence on a world tour later in 2010. The Stage Technologies group of companies worked on technical solutions for the original production of The Phantom of the Opera in 1986 by The Really Useful Group, as well as the show’s first major UK tour in the early 90s.

The automation system for Love Never Dies comprises around 60 automated axes and is programmed via the new-series Acrobat∙G6 control desk, with motor control from seven AU:tour quick-install, plug-and-play, touring control racks. Purpose-built trusses and tracks were designed and manufactured for the trapeze artists as well as two customised, wireless, friction-driven stage trucks. BigTow 390s are used to fly two large set pieces - a hot air balloon with passengers and a Martin EvenLED wall that is flown in and out of the stage area during every scenery change. A BT490 brings in a heavyweight set piece for the “Aerie” scenes. Additional point hoists and winches are used for flying performers and props and other automated axes include the doughnut revolve, front-of-stage footlights and rotating light boxes.

eChameleon – the next generation automation software - made its West End debut in this production. The award-winning F:light system is also used to effortlessly track individual performers and set pieces on the revolve with pre-programmed moving lights.

The system includes:
